Digital Media & Marketing Intern

White River watershed is home to hundreds of miles of streams and rivers designated as Ecologically Sensitive Waterbodies, providing habitat for numerous threatened, endangered, and endemic aquatic species. Our advocacy work to better protect these resources requires educating the public about biodiversity, threats, and solutions.
We are seeking an eager individual who is passionate about water quality – protecting fishable, swimmable, drinkable water! Our Digital Media and Marketing Intern will work closely with the Waterkeeper and Science Communication intern to develop digital content for social media, newsletters, website, press, and other outreach materials.
Internship is unpaid, but we are happy to help with any documentation needed for you to receive class credit. We also offer reimbursement of mileage on vehicle ($0.54/mile) on work-related trips. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Duration: 3 months. Tentative start date: January 15, 2020.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop social media content (graphics and copy) for WRW’s Facebook and Instagram

Incorporate branding guidelines into graphics using Canva for WRW’s 2020 social media campaigns: #FishFactFriday and #MacroinvertebrateMonday – highlighting fish and aquatic invertebrates found throughout the White River watershed

WEEKLY SCHEDULE
5-10 hours per week with varying hours/flexible schedules. Intern will mostly work remotely and unsupervised to create content. Weekly meetings (in-person and/or phone) to discuss progress will be required. Training will be provided – participation in a one-day orientation will be required.
