AOW Position on Proposed Carroll County Wind Farm

AOW supports clean energy projects in our area of stewardship that are transparent, scientifically rigorous, and which preserve the integrity of our natural landscape and environment. While the transition to cleaner energy is important for the protection of water systems everywhere, it is essential that the creation of this new infrastructure be done in a way which minimizes the adverse effects of construction and the impact of structures on the landscape. Furthermore, we support the efforts of stakeholders to seek clear and complete information regarding placement, construction, impacts, valuation, duration, and maintenance of such infrastructure. In keeping with the beliefs of the Water Keeper Alliance, we believe in the right to clean water for all communities. We are committed to uplifting the voices of our diverse communities and pursuing just, equitable clean water laws and policies for all.
